On 24 May 1995, Sachin
Tendulkar married Anjali, paediatrician &
daughter of Gujarati industrialist Anand Mehta & British social worker Annabel
Mehta. They have two children, Sara & Arjun. Anjali is 6 years elder
toArjun.
Career
as a bowler
Throughout his school days he
finished MRF Pace Foundation to train as speedy bowler. However Australian
speedy bowler Dennis Lillee, who took world record 355 Test wickets, was
unimpressed and suggesting that Tendulkar focus on hiz batting instead.
Cricketing
achievement
He holds
the world record for playing highest Test & ODI matches. He is the first
sportsperson to receive honorary rank of Group Captain by Indian Air Force. He
has received honorary doctorates from Mysore University &
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
Tendulkar
finished Sharadashram Vidyamandir, where he started his cricketing career underneath
guidance of his coach & mentor, Ramakant Achrekar. While at schools, he
developed reputation as child sensation. He had become common conversation
point within Mumbai circles. At the age of 14 he receives ultra light pads from
the Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar. “It was greatest basis of
encouragement for me,” he told 20 years later beyond crossing Gavaskar’s world
record of 34 Test centuries. On 11 Dec 1988, aged only 15 years & 232 days,
Tendulkar scored 100 not out in his first appearance 1st class match
for Bombay beside Gujarat,
creating him youngest Indian to score century on 1st class debut. He
was picked by Mumbai captain Dilip Vengsarkar beyond seeing him talk Kapil Dev
within nets, & finished season as Bombay’s
highest run scorer. He as well prepared unbeaten century within Irani Trophy
final, & was selected for tour of Pakistan coming year. His 1st dual
century was for Mumbai just as playing besides visiting Australian team at
Brabourne Stadium within 1998. He is only player to score century within all 3
of his Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy & Irani Trophy debuts. 200
underprivileged children were sponsored by Tendulker in a Mumbai based NGO
associated with his mother-in-law, Annabel Mehta. A request from Sachin on
Twitter raised Indian Rupee 10.25 million for Crusade beside Cancer foundation.
